Suspect caught rifling through homeowner’s belongings

A Nanaimo homeowner got a surprise when she came home for lunch and found a man rummaging through her purse.

The woman had walked to her home, in the 400 block of Hewgate Street, during her lunch hour on back on Thursday, June 14th.

When she went inside, RCMP say she heard noises from her bedroom.

When she opened her bedroom door, she saw an unknown man wearing a full face shield sitting at her desk rummaging through her purse.

She yelled at the man who ran off out the bedroom window and rode away on a bicycle.
