An 84 old man is dead after he collided with a recycling truck on high way 101.
The incident happened around 3:30 yesterday afternoon. (Fri June 22nd)
The 84-old-man who was on a bike was travelling in the same direction as the truck and was struck when the truck made a right turn onto Wharf Avenue.
The driver called 911 immediately, the cyclist was transported to the Sechelt hospital but did not survive.
Victim Services and police have contacted the cyclists next of kin and police say alcohol and speed were not a factor but the investigation is ongoing.
