Economic Development looking to better support home-based businesses

Home-based businesses are a significant part of Nanaimo’s economy.

There are 2,267 of them.

Amrit Manhas, Nanaimo’s Economic Development Officer says that’s about 37 per cent of the total businesses in the Harbour City.

Manhas says it’s been decades since any direct communication has been made with the home-based business sector in Nanaimo…..

A link to a new survey and an invitation to participate has been directly emailed to over 90 per cent of Nanaimo’s home-based businesses.

Manhas says the multiple choice question survey will only take about ten minutes for a business owner to complete….

Manhas says it will take business owners less than 10 minutes to complete a series of multiple choice questions and the deadline to do it is July 16th.

The results will be tabulated and available in a couple of weeks.

Home-based businesses who did not get an emailed link to the survey can call the City to get one.
