The City of Nanaimo is gathering evidence to go to court to have the Tent City removed from the property at 1 Port Place.
To do that, Acting Mayor Ian Thorpe says the City’s lawyer has suggested the public can help…..

The City urges any members of the public who have been negatively impacted by the Tent City, and who wish to make a sworn statement, to email our solicitors at [email protected].
In the meantime, Thorpe says the City is doing what it can to find alternative shelter options for the people who are living in the tent city.
Thorpe says the City’s lawyer believes the case will proceed to the court during the last week of this month.
