The MLA for Nanaimo is said to be considering a run for the mayor’s chair in the Harbour City.
Leonard Krog, is set to make an announcement Wednesday.
If he is planning to run for the mayor’s chair it could mean a crucial byelection that could put the governing NDP-Green alliance’s hold on power on the line.
The Nanaimo seat is historically safe ground for the New Democrats.
But it’s a numbers game with the B.C. Liberals having 42 seats in the 87 seat legislature, the New Democrats have 41, but with the Green Alliance have 44.
That’s just a two seat advantage.
