Attempts continue to address water supply deficit

The Sunshine Coast Regional District is actively working on their comprehensive water management plan.

The second open house for Tetrahedron Park was held in Roberts Creek and the regional district board also made a decision for the next step in water metre installations.

Shane Walkey with the RD says those two projects along with two other ones will hopefully address the water supply deficit we’ve been dealing with.

The RD is looking to borrow more than $5 million over 20 years to install water metres in Sechelt through an alternative approval process.

If more than 10 per cent of the affected residents’ votes against this move, the RD would then need to find another way to get approval for the installations.
