Police dog retires

A police service dog, based out of Nanaimo is going into retirement.
Boomer and his handler, Constable Clay Wurzinger had numerous successes including one back in 2016 when an elderly woman had been missing in the Cowichan valley for days and the prospect of finding her was dim.
On day five, the two located her after hours of searching, in 30 degree weather and very difficult terrain.
Later, Boomer and Wurzinger received a commendation for their efforts in potentially saving the woman’s life.
Constable Gary O’Brien explains what happens to Boomer now…..
Boomer served with the Nanaimo RCMP since 2012.
