Pressure from advocates helps the case of tiny homes

There may be a light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to the acceptance of tiny homes in our communities.
Last week, the District of Tofino, made some changes to its bylaws to allow for smaller sized homes.
Tobi Elliott, of Gabriola and organizer with Tiny House Courses B.C. says an Edmonton municipality has also recently accepted the placement of tiny homes in its jurisdiction after an advocate pushed for it…….
Elliot says there are still a lot of grey areas when it comes to tiny homes especially when it comes to the Canada Building Code, which says year round homes need to be on a foundation, or fixed to the ground in some way.
Elliot admits solutions have to be developed too, when it comes to what happens with the sewage from a tiny home in a rural area.
