Former poli-sci prof says Liberals are running roughshod over B.C.

This pipeline debate isn’t the first time the federal Liberal government has put themselves in a precarious position.
In the 1950’s eastern Canada wanted Alberta’s natural gas and the Liberal government, eventually invested 115 million dollars in public funds to build the pipeline with partners that included Texas oil tycoons.
There was months pipeline debate and uproar and the Liberals fell in an election soon after.
Retired political scientist with VIU, Allan Warnke says, with the adoption of the Constitution Act in 1982, some power shifted to the provinces and now, he’s wondering if the Federal Government even understands how the game is played…..
Warnke says the Minister of the Environment Catherine McKenna is not doing a very good job representing the interests of her portfolio either.
He suggests she needs to press B.C.’s case with the Finance Minister, who has said the pipeline will be built, whether we like it or not, and taxpayers money will foot the bill for the investment risk.
