The Town of Gibsons will look to adopt their budget tomorrow (Fri)
The average residential household in the town of Gibsons saw their housing assessments go up by 17.7 per cent and the amount you’ll be paying for taxes is dependent on how much your assessment went up.
Gibsons’ Director of Financing Dave Douglas says the average household will see a 4.5 cent increase in taxes compared to the previous year.
If your assessment went up higher than 18 per cent you’ll be seeing a higher tax bill.
The average business class went up by 8.7 per cent over the last year.

So if your assessment went up by more than that, your tax increase will also be greater than the 4.5 per cent increase proposed by the town.
