BC Ferries isn’t confirming any details other than there was a police-involved incident at the Departure Bay ferry terminal.
Spokesperson Deborah Marshall says they’ve been told to refer any questions by the public to the RCMP but she says they’re continuing to operate out of the terminal in Nanaimo.
Marshall says it would be best to check on their website for current conditions if you plan on using the ferry service in Nanaimo.
