Packed house for Tetrahedron Park public hearing

Some Sunshine Coast residents and elected officials are raising questions about the consultation process for Tetrahedron Park.

The Sunshine Coast Regional District is looking to redesignate the park so they can move ahead with their Chapman Water Expansion Project that’s been on hold for a while.

Bruce Milne who is the Mayor of Sechelt and as well as the Board Chair of the SCRD Chair says he wrote to the Minister of Environment & Climate Change about the 30-day public consultation process that’s underway right now.
BC Parks held an open house at the Seaside Centre tonight and it was standing room only. Due to capacity concerns, some residents weren’t able to make it into the meeting.

Most of the people who attended asked similar questions as Milne and also expressed their desire for the Tetrahedron Park not to be touched and for the SCRD to find alternatives for water.
