Bulldog Theatre heading back to provincials – and this time job action won't stop them

Some Nanaimo students are looking forward to the Provincial Theatre Competition next month.

A production by John Barsby’s Bulldog Theatre, “Not So Dumb”, has won a spot in the three day festival in New Westminster.

Drama teacher Tom Rokeby says it’s especially exciting for the three main actors, since they lost out on their chance to take part 2 years ago.

Rokeby says they have to raise about 5-thousand dollars for the trip, so they’re hosting a “Bulldog Theatre Showcase” Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  It will feature the play, along with another comedy, a film and some musical entertainment along with desserts and a silent auction.

It starts at 7pm each night at Barsby’s Chandler Hall – tickets are at the door: $10 for adults and $5 for students.
