Sechelt budget looks for adoption at council

Sechelt’s council will look to finalize and adopt their financial plan for this year, at this week’s council meeting.

The District’s Director of Corporate and Financial Services’ Doug Stewart explains what kind of an increase property owners can expect to see this year.

The proposed property tax increase is an increase of 5.78 per cent over 2017.

Stewart says the 2.78 per cent increase is to meet operational needs and the other three per cent is for infrastructure renewal.

Property owners will receive tax notices after May 24th.
