The Nanaimo Chamber, OurNanaimo and Leadership Vancouver Island are launching a Civic Leadership Speakers’ Series.
The Chamber’s CEO, Kim Smythe says they will help prepare citizens who are thinking of taking a run for a seat on Nanaimo City Council…..
The series begins with a mandatory introductory session on April 24th and that will be followed by four sessions related to the roles and responsibilities of elected officials.
Advance registration is required.
Smythe says, although the focus is for those who may want to run in the municipal election in October, anyone who is interested in the workings of council can attend.
