Transitional/supportive houses proposed for old RCMP site in Gibsons

It appears the old RCMP property in Gibsons is finally going to be of use again.

The town of Gibsons, the province and the federal government is looking to turn it into supportive/transitional houses.

Councillor Silas White says the old building will need to be torn down and then they’ll construct a new building once they have the green light.

White says a project like this usually will have 40 units but he’s not sure if that would be feasible for this property.

However, BC Housing has hired an architect and they should have a better idea of what the proposal will look like by the end of the month.
