Family Day moving in 2019

Starting next year, Family Day in B.C. will be moved to the third week in February.

Premier John Horgan made the announcement today (Fri).

Family Day was established in in the province in 2013 following a consultation process that had recommended the holiday be on either the second or third Monday of February.

The government of the day decided on the second Monday.

Some people don’t like it because it means a family member, who works for the Federal government, doesn’t get the day off until the following week along with most of the rest of the country.
