Incinerator opponents are taking to the streets of Nanaimo again.
The Burning Issues Coalition, which includes several groups like the Sierra Club, is holding a protest march Friday, starting at noon at the corner of Commercial and Terminal.
Member Carla Stein says they want Nanaimo Council to take a firm stand against the proposal, even before Metro Vancouver holds public consultations.
Another demonstration is planned for Monday, when the issue will come up at the council meeting.
Port Mellon on the Sunshine Coast is also on the short list of possible sites for Metro Van’s waste to energy facility.
