The Sechelt First Nation has posted, on their webpage that they have appointed a new chief administration officer.
She’s Nanaimo’s CAO Tracy Samra.
Although it seems to be official on the east side of the Strait, Samra has not yet made the move official publicly in Nanaimo.
There had been rumours this week the controversial CAO had applied for the position with the Sechelt First Nation.
Samra has been with the City of Nanaimo for just over two years now.
There was controversy right from the day she was hired, when some members of council and the public questioned the process.
There were numerous confrontations between the CAO and some members of council including the Mayor and two female councillors, one of whom stepped down after accusations of assault were filed against her by Samra.
More than 35 managers have left the City under her leadership.
