Sunshine Coast Regional Economic Development Organization is looking to enhance herring habitats in the community.
Celia Robben says what they’re doing is putting netting and curtains around ten different docks on the coast to encourage herring spawning.
Robben says having a healthy herring stock in the community will make the local marine ecosystem better and there will be economic benefits as well.
