Wholesale liquor system in B.C. under the microscope

Some owners of establishments in the hospitality industry are calling B.C.’s liquor laws archaic.
That’s after liquor control agents swooped in to a number of establishments in B.C. last week, including the Grand Hotel in Nanaimo, and seized bottles of whisky that had purchased from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society of Canada.
B.C.’s Attorney General, David Eby says he understands there are complaints about the current system and it is under review……
The co-founder of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society of Canada, who sold the confiscated bottles, says the products they bring into the province are all registered and taxes are paid.
