Better internet service for Coast communities

The Federal government, along with the Province, has announced a combined investment of 45 point 4 million dollars to improve high speed internet in coastal communities.
Jane Philpott, Minister of Indigenous Services, in Vancouver to make the announcement, says the funding will bring new or improved high speed internet to 154 rural and remote communites including those on the Sunshine Coast and all around Vancouver Island….
44 First Nations will also benefit from the better service.
The project, which involves laying subsea fibre optic cable, is expected to be complete in 2021.
