Sunshine Coast residents can expect to see some new faces working for Waste Management going forward.
The company, who bought out Direct Disposal, does have some different policies. Previous employees of Direct Disposal were offered a job through the transition, however, due to different circumstances, some weren’t hired again.
Jackie Lang with Waste Management says she can’t comment on individual cases but their HR team was fully engaged with Direct Disposal employees to let them know about the conditions of employment as well as their options going forward.
Waste Management does have a company-wide drug policy which was not in place when Direct Disposal was in charge.
Lang says at this time they’re looking to hire sorters for their material recovery facility and as well as one residential driver.
