Flu-like illnesses are spreading through our health facilities.
Four facilities in Nanaimo, including Dufferin Place, Eden Gardens, Nanaimo Regional General Hospital and Origin at Longwood are affected along with Trillium Lodge in Parksville.
Various restrictions are in place in an effort to contain the outbreaks.
On top of the flu at Eden Gardens in Nanaimo, there is also the possibility a Norovirus like illness is making the rounds and samples have been sent off to confirm that.
Three facilities in Victoria are also affected.
If you are visiting a health facility in the province and don’t have a flu shot, you will have to wear a mask.
