A Sechelt RCMP officer is among those being recognized by ICBC and the Middelaer family for getting impaired drivers off the road.
This is the second year in a row Constable Todd Bozak has been named to Alexa’s Team.
The Team was created to honour Alexa Middelaer, a young girl killed by a drunk driver. The original goal was to reduce impaired driving deaths by 35 per cent by 2013, which is the year Alexa would have turned 10.
Numbers released in February show that goal was easily beaten, with deaths down by 52 per cent, or 190 lives saved.
The members of Alexa’s Team from Vancouver Island will be announced on May 6th.
