An eventful holiday season for police

Sunshine Coast RCMP had a busy holiday season, but through it all there were no serious injuries reported.

Missing from a variety of vehicle break ins and thefts throughout the period is a cell phone, two Makita drills, and some name brand sunglasses.

Sometime prior to Christmas a suspect stole a painting from a gallery in the Trail Bay Mall in Sechelt. The acrylic painting is on a canvas about 10 inches by 12 inches, and features a close-up image of a totem pole carving.

On Boxing Day, a woman, travelling on the by-pass road in Langdale glanced down to turn on the heat in her vehicle but in doing so, police say she rear-ended the car in front of her. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene but there were no serious injuries.
