The Bowser Village Sanitary Sewer Service is moving forward.
Bill Veenhof, Regional District of Nananimo Chair and Area H Director says the creation of a service area means that the RDN can now access up to almost 7 point 6 million dollars in Clean Water and Wastewater Grant funding.
The project will cost 10 point 7 million dollars and the 99 households in the community will pick up about half a million dollars of the cost……
Veenhof says the financing arrangements are complicated, but accommodating with residents having the option of either paying upfront, or they can have the cost added to their assessments and paid back over 20 years…..
Just what it will cost residents depends upon each property type.
Veenhof says the sewer service is part of the overall Bowser Village Plan, which was 20 years in the making.
That plan aims to create a small village with services that will benefit all the residents in the community.
