Police seek rightful owners of stolen gear

Nanaimo RCMP is looking for the owner of a full set of child’s hockey gear and a top end child’s backpack.
Police say the hockey gear was turned over them in late August after it was found by a bylaw officer under the stairs of the Military museum on Gordon Street.
The gear consists of Easton skates, a black Bauer helmet, shin pads, pants and elbow pads and one very small grey and black sock.
The equipment was most likely stolen and was being stored under the stairs to be retrieved at a later date.

The backpack was found this past Tuesday near a home on Janelle Place.

Police say the person who found the backpack said it had been there for 3 days .
It is virtually brand new with the labels and instructions still attached.
