Large employers warn of layoffs if $15 minimum wage comes in

The province backed off on a plan to implement a 15 dollar an hour minimum wage by 2021, and instead gave an independent review panel free rein to suggest a new, possibly longer, timeline.

So, consultations are taking place around the province and the head of the Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce told the panel there are concerns in his community.

The commission is holding in-person consultations in eight communities around the province but you can submit a brief or other written feedback by sending an email to the commission for its consideration as well.
