The Coast Guard is releasing details of a rescue in the waters between Texada Island and Powell River.
It happened just before 11:30am on Saturday, April 7.
Six people on a sailboat taking on water had just enough time to make one mayday call before the boat went down.
All six were pulled from the cold and choppy water when the Coast Guard crew from Powell River got to them about 20 minutes later.
A BC Ferries vessel and a nearby fishing boat also helped with the rescue.
