Fair Wages Commission stops in Nanaimo

The Fair Wages Commission will be in Nanaimo tomorrow (Fri).
Members of the Commission are looking for input on the timing of wage increases for the general workforce and want to hear the persepectives businesses and the general public have on a 15 dollar minimum wage.
Deanna Ogle, with the Living Wage for Families Campaign says it’s important businesses have representation at the Commission….
She says employers who pay minimum wage make it hard for businesses who want to pay a living wage, because the playing field is uneven.
The stop in Nanaimo tomorrow (Fri) is one of only two on Vancouver Island with the other one being in Victoria on the 29th.
It goes from 9:45 until 2:30 at the Best Western Dorchester Hotel.
