The Island Corridor Foundation and Southern Rail have met with the Transportation and Infrastructure minister to talk about Nanaimo to Victoria train service.
Co-chair of the Foundation, Phil Kent says the board is anxious for the Minister to fully understand the scope of the project and what train services could be provided…..
The plan includes rebuilding the track infrastructure between Nanaimo and Victoria and the resumption of VIA Passenger Rail service twice daily from Nanaimo to Victoria.
Kent says there was no commitment from the province at this point but the Foundation will be following up in the near future.
