Remembrance Day services set for Nanaimo and the Sunshine Coast

Remembrance Day services, to mark the sacrifices men and women have made for our freedoms, will be held in Nanaimo at the downtown Cenotaph.
Bill Brayshaw of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 10 expects between 1500 and 2,000 people will attend….
Street closures in the immediate area will be in effect.
The service starts around 10:45 with the pipes and drums followed by the colour party which forms up beside the Cenotaph for a short service and moment of silence.
The guns will be fired at the warf where the Navy ships come in.
Both Branch 10 and Branch 256 Legions will offer light lunches following the service.
The Sunshine Coast will have four Remembrance Day ceremonies on Saturday.

Services will be held at the Royal Canadian Legions in Roberts Creek, Gibsons, Sechelt and Pender Harbour.

For Sechelt residents, the gathering is happening at the Cenotaph near Cowrie and the street will be shut down temporarily for the occasion.
