The old RCMP building in Gibsons is still undecided for as both Habitat for Humanity and the Town of Gibsons are hoping to get the historic site.
Habitat for Humanity Sunshine Coast Executive Director Cori Lynn Germiquet says there’s a misconception in the community that habitat homes don’t stay as forever homes. But she notes that’s not all true and they’d like to collaborate with the municipality to figure out a viable solution for possible housing.
Germiquet says they recently put out a call for people to apply for Habitat homes and within a short period of time, more than 30 families that were in dire need of homes applied.
