Vacation rentals and short-term rentals are nothing new to the Sunshine Coast.
Municipalities across Canada are having issues trying to find a good balance between those rentals and long-term rentals.
Gibsons Resident Ken Hughes believes the nightly rentals have positive impacts on the community and is encouraging Gibsons council to endorse the rentals rather than turn their backs against it.
Hughes believes businesses such as Air Bnb belong in this community and notes that there are significant economic benefits.
