Court rejects Brunie Brunie's attempt to stop Linley Valley work

Brunie Brunie has had her day in court.

The Nanaimo activist has been trying to stop development in Linley Valley West.  She was in court Thursday to press a counter claim against Mount Benson Developments.

But her injunction application is being rejected.

Brunie says that’s disappointing because she thinks the work should at least be stopped through the bird nesting season, which is what the group Save Linley Valley West has also been saying in opposition to City road work in the area.

Brunie also says she feels the judge short-changed her a bit by not letting her present her full argument, but she doesn’t regret taking the issue to court.

Brunie is also claiming a small victory.  The judge turned aside the company’s effort to have her held responsible for the court costs.
