Sunshine Coast housing market not expected to cool down

Local real estate agents believe now is the time to buy or sell a house on the Sunshine Coast as the market is not expected to improve anytime soon.

Tony Browton says the property value on the Sunshine Coast is about the same as Chilliwack and people from the Lower Mainland are choosing to move here because there are more benefits and it’s about the same commute to Vancouver.

Browton says there’s not a lot of inventory right now and the demand is still high.

Some realtors like Gary Little believe if the Provincial Government follows through with their ferry fare reduction campaign promise, the price of housing will increase, but the impacts won’t be dramatic.

Little believes more positives would come out of a ferry fare reduction instead of negatives.
