CMHA gets cash donation to help first responders

The Canadian Mental Health Association Mid Island will be able to help first responders thanks to a donation from the Edgwood Health Network.
Executive Director of the Association, Jason Harrison says first responders are feeling the stress as a result of the overdose epidemic….
Edgewood handed over a cheque for more than 17,000 dollars to provide Resiliency Training to local first responders.
The program, Harrison says, was developed in partnership with the BC Firefighters Association, is a comprehensive, four-module prevention program designed specifically to support first responders in areas of psychological trauma and workplace stress.
