A bear who triedĀ to breakĀ into a Gibsons’ residence has been put down by the RCMP.
Vishal Mathura, Staff Sergeant of the Sunshine Coast RCMP says it happened this weekend, the bear got in through someone’s sliding glass door and scared the residents to lock themselves in their room.
The bear eventually left the house but not before a confrontation….
The bear was more than 200 pounds and both the Mounties and the Conservation Officer Service believe the bear put the public in danger and had to be put down.
Mathura adds it was a peculiar situation that their detachment has never dealt with and says he wouldn’t recommend anyone to punch the bear in the nose.
