The province is working with the federal government to provide a response to farmers and ranchers who have suffered losses as a result of the wildfires in the interior.
Lana Popham, Minister of Agriculture says she’s met with some of the farmers and their resiliency is something to be admired….
In the meantime, Kevin Skrepnek, of the BC Wildfire Service says the weather going forward is a good news, bad news story…..
Skrepnek says the wildfire season is now the worst on record in the province with 894,491 hectares burned….
In 2009, the most recent, worst year on record, 247,000 hectares burned.
