West Vancouver Sunshine Coast MP John Weston says he’s supporting a Parliamentary reform bill being put forward by a fellow Conservative MP.
Michael Chong’s private members bill was tabled just before the House of Commons went on its Christmas break.
The bill’s provisions include giving party caucuses the ability to trigger leadership reviews and giving riding associations the final word on candidate selection.
And, Weston says he thinks there’s a danger people might misunderstand the motivation behind Chong’s bill.
Weston says the bill would also support things Prime Minister Harper is already doing to help give back-bench MPs a greater voice.
