BC Ferries is out with the reduced schedules.
16 routes are losing sailings in order to help Ferries find around $14-million in savings. The new schedules start April 28th.
As already announced by the Gabriola Island Ferry Advisory Committee, that run will see a gap mid-day and the loss of the first round trip on weekends and last sailing Sunday night. Mid-day trips will be brought back during the peak summer season.
The Langdale Horseshoe Bay route is losing a mid-morning round trip on Sundays.
Deborah Marshall of BC Ferries says despite the reductions, the company still plans to offer extra sailings over the summer.
