Petition circulating calling for council cooperation

Nanaimo’s mayor says he won’t be running again in the October 2018 civic elections.
Bill McKay says he had no idea politics could be this dirty and it’s agonizing going to work everyday not knowing where the next attack might come from.
In the meantime, a bipartisan group of concerned Nanaimo citizens have started a petition.
Spokesperson for the group, Matthew O’Donnell says the group has gone this route for a number of reasons…….
O’Donnell says councillors who do not sign onto the code of conduct should resign.
The petition will be handed to council next Monday at 7 and the group is asking for a resolution by 8 o’clock that evening.
