Smoky Skies bulletin issued

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, in partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health, has issued a Smoky Skies Bulletin.
It’s for the communities in the Whistler, Sunshine Coast, and Howe Sound regions due to wildfire smoke in the area.
Provincial Fire Information Officer Kevin Skrepnek says the winds are shifting to an outflow pattern which is going to pull air from the interior to the coast.
Health officials say it’s a good idea to consider avoiding strenuous outdoor activities.
Exposure is particularly a concern for infants, the elderly and those who have underlying medical conditions such as diabetes, and lung or heart disease.
Officials say if you are experiencing difficulty in breathing, chest pain or discomfort, and the sudden onset of a cough or throat irritation you should see a health care provider.
