The City of Parksville is moving to Stage 3 watering restrictions effective Canada Day.
Debbie Tardiff explains how that differs from Stage 2…..
Parksville is the only municipality to do this at this point.
Tardiff says it’s because of the aging water intake system on the Englishman River….
Residents are being asked to limit watering trees, shrubs, flowers and vegetable gardens as much as possible, avoid washing vehicles or boats, sweep driveways or decks instead of using a hose to wash them off and to try to reduce indoor water use as much as possible.
The City, meantime, will be applying a wetting agent to some of it’s largest turf areas in an effort to retain some moisture in the fields.
