VCH heading out to the malls for opinions on St. Mary's name change

Vancouver Coastal Health is going to be out in the malls in Gibsons and Sechelt this weekend, looking for thoughts on the name of St. Mary’s Hospital.

VCH announced earlier this month that, at the urging of the Sechelt First Nation and others, it’s considering a name change for the 73 year old hospital.

People can drop by and give their opinions Saturday, March 28th from noon to 4 at Sunnycrest Mall in Gibsons and Sunday, March 30th from noon to 4 at the Trail Bay Centre in Sechelt.

The main open house is coming up Monday, March 31st from 4 to 8pm in the Hospital lobby.

People can also e-mail their thoughts to [email protected]

Because the hospital is a provincial facility, the Cabinet actually gets the final say on any name change.
