Legislature resumes Thursday

Look after fiscal fundamentals but spread the wealth around.
That, according to Premier Christy Clark, is the plan going forward…..
Clark says the throne speech will call for a budget amendment to add one billion dollars to childcare in the province over 4 years creating 60,000 more spaces on top of the 13,000 she says her government already created.
It will also have provisions to support early childhood education, more money for those on social assistance and the disabled and new investments in mental health. Her government will also ban corporate and union donations.
BC Greens Leader Andrew Weaver says while it’s good to see the Liberals are showing interest in good public policy, it’s too little too late.
The legislature resumes tomorrow (Thurs).
The old Allan Fotheringham quote might come to mind for some when it comes to B.C. politics.

The Canadian newspaper and magazine columnist is well known for saying, of politics, on the Prairies it’s a protest and in British Columbia – entertainment.

MLA for Nanaimo North Cowichan, Doug Routley says the delays following the May 9th election will likely continue for a while yet with no confidence vote expected for at least another week …..

Routley says for anyone watching politics, these are interesting times, but he is concerned about the people waiting for the government to get to work on their issues.
