Around a hundred people from the Sunshine Coast are getting together Thursday afternoon to talk about a “Community Without Borders”.
The Sunshine Coast Literacy Coalition is behind the event, and Sandy Middleton of Capilano University says there’s a definite connection between the idea of inclusion and literacy.
Speakers will look at things like financial literacy, how we use language, and how the increasingly popular idea of “social enterprise” works to build a community.
Middleton says she’s also looking forward to the crowd made up of people from local organizations, governments and businesses, because the audience itself is going to be a reflection of the increasing diversity of the Sunshine Coast.
