The BC Wildfire Service is setting restrictions on open fires at noon tomorrow. (Wed)
Category two open fires will be banned throughout the Coastal Fire Centre’s jurisdiction, expect in the “fog zone” and Haida Gwaii.
Marg Drysdale says most people will recognize category two open fires as backyard debris burning or burn barrels.
Fireworks, sky lanterns and binary exploding targets are also banned.
Drysdale says if you don’t follow the rules you could get a $1,150 ticket.
