OurNanaimo helps voters sort the political wheat through the chaff

OurNanaimo is hoping to help the city’s voters decide who to support in the upcoming by-election.
The organization is asking the 13 candidates a series of questions and the answers will be posted on Facebook.
A member of OurNanaimo, Don Bonner says all candidates have been asked to supply their CV and answer questions on city planning, fiscal responsibility, how they will work effectively with the existing council among others….
Bonner says he’s surprised so many candidates stepped up for the vacant city council seat.
He says there are some familiar faces that ran in the last civic election but there are some new ones as well….
The Nanaimo by-election will be held July 8th.
OurNanaimo grew out of NoVote2017 and includes members from a cross-section of Nanaimo, including retirees, working families, students, young professionals and business owners.
